Try to think about how you could explain each of the following situations in a balanced way, using an attribution of yourself, others, and the circumstances. 

Tips:  

  • For negative events start with others/circumstances and for positive events start with self. 
  • Think about what a trusted friend would think in the same situation. → Would they assume the same causes for the following situations?
  1. Your friend says they don’t want to hang out with you today.
  1. You pass a colleague on the street and they don’t say hi to you.
  1. Your boss says you’ve been doing a great job with the project you are working on
