This next exercise is to help you identify your strengths, proud moments, and things you like about yourself.
Start by drawing a bookshelf. This bookshelf represents you and your life. In each of the shelves, write down some of your strengths, proud moments or times you have made a positive difference in someone else’s life.
Here are some things to think about as you fill your shelves:
- Describe your proudest moment.
- What about that experience made you feel proud?
- What did you like about yourself in this experience?
- What traits/strengths were important in this experience?
- Write down at least 3 things that you are good at. These talents can be anything, from making people laugh or having a good memory, to a specific skill, like chess.
- What would a best friend/spouse/someone close to you say your greatest strength is?
- In your best moments, what do you appreciate about yourself the most?
- What is something you have done lately, an act big or small, that contributed to someone else’s well being? How did this make a difference for you? for the other person?
