Here’s a short video talking about what resilience means:

To review, resilience means adapting or coming to terms with an experience. We all learn resilience at a young age

Sometimes we have traumatic experiences like violence, abuse, or rape that are harder to come to terms with.

After these traumatic events, we may need to reach out to counsellors or psychologists who can help.

Resilience is being able to bounce back from hard times.

Think about a tree. The stronger roots a tree has, the more likely it is able to bounce back after a storm.

This is what resiliency looks like in humans, the stronger our roots (all the things that keep us going day after day), the more likely we will be able to bounce back after difficult experiences.
