As someone who uses injection drugs, you are at risk for different kinds of infections and health issues. These could potentially be fatal. It’s important to reduce your risks by using clean equipment and preparing adequately.

Skin infections (Abscesses), blood clots & embolisms are most common.

HIV is a virus that weakens your immune system, your body’s built-in defence against disease. There is no vaccine or cure for HIV.

Hep B and Hep C can lead to liver disease or liver cancer, both of which can, in some cases, kill you.

Heart infection due to the buildup of dirt or bacteria in your heart valves.

Overdose: Make sure to test the dose and don’t inject alone.
