What Is a Crisis?
A crisis refers to a significant change in one’s mental health or well-being that can’t be worked out through usual strategies. A crisis can look different for everyone and can be experienced by anyone.
In terms of substance use, a crisis can be when someone returns to their old drug use habits. While this is a common occurrence, it can be very dangerous since individuals often revert back to using the same amount as before reducing/stopping their drug use, which can lead to overdose and death. A crisis is an indicator that you are in need of more support and assistance to overcome your cravings.
