Creative thinking
Let’s start with creative thinking. Think of as many ideas as you can to meet your goal and to solve your problem. These also could include things you have already tried.
Write them down, no matter how stupid they sound. This can:
- Improve your chance of coming up with a good solution
- Might keep you from acting on impulse
- Makes you feel more hopeful
- Makes a tough situation better

- Be in bed by 11pm for 4 nights
- Stay in bed until 5am even if I can’t fall back asleep in the middle of the night
- Take 30 mins naps 4 days a week
- Stop using any electronics (i.e. TV, Phone) 2 hours before going to bed
- Don’t drink any caffeine after 3pm
- Read a book for an hour before bed
- Don’t sleep at all so won’t miss alarm
- Ask Sameer to not make any noise when he comes back from work
- Take some oxys

- Call/text the housing staff from my room to let them know
- Have a set schedule of when using and give this to housing staff
- Use less to lower the chances of overdose
- Go cold turkey, withdraw over the weekend when kids are their grandma’s
- Throw out all my stash
- Go for a walks
- Grab food with a friend
- Make food
- Call or hangout with sis
- drink or smoke weed instead
- Try to space out more time between each hit
- Make an appointment with a counsellor
- Make an appointment with doctor to ask for help
- Give custody of kids to my mom
- Leave town, start a new life
