How can Fentanyl Impact People With Other Medical Conditions?
People with certain medical conditions might be at high risk for serious side effects from fentanyl use. These groups include:
- People with breathing problems: fentanyl may further increase airway resistance and lead to their breathing to stop.
- People with liver or kidney problems: fentanyl depends on these organs to break down the drug and remove it from the body and can cause significant stress on their body.
- Pregnant women: risk of miscarriage, low birth weight, premature delivery, high infant mortality)
