What if I don’t want treatment?
The pain of opioid withdrawal can be so severe that it becomes nearly impossible to go through it alone. It’s always best to get some help. However, there are some things you can do to help make yourself feel better on your own:
- Drink extra fluids (ideally water)
- Stay cool. Keep a wet towel and fan near you
- Use distractions. Read a book, watch a movie or take a walk
