What are the Risks of Taking Opioids?

It is important to know the risks of taking opioids. Pain can be an obstacle to recovery from substance use since individuals may turn to substances to cope with physical or emotional discomfort. 

Here are some risks of taking opioids:

  • Harmful side effects
  • Respiratory Depression
  • Opioids becoming less effective over time/increasing pain sensitivity
